CENTER FOR YOUNG CHILDREN PRESCHOOL
The Center For Young Children (CYC) has been helping preschool children grow in the Lord for more than 40 years! We strive to provide a nurturing environment with a variety of experiences that enables each child to develop an interest and joy in learning, that fosters self-expression, self-control, responsibility, and that guides and encourages each child to learn how to play with peers in a group setting. Our most important goal is to provide these experiences in a Christian atmosphere according to the scripture taken from Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Classes are offered for children who are 3, 4, and 5 years old. The children must be fully potty-trained and either 3 or 4 years old by September 1st. The 3-year old class meets for two mornings a week; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-11:30am, and the 4/5 year- old class meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00am-11:30am.
We make every effort to have a staff/student ratio of 1:5 for the 3-year class and 1:7 for the 4- year class. Roxanne Donnan is our Director/Head Teacher. She is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and is a certified teacher with more than 30 years of experience in education. Our Assistant Teacher, Amy Austin, is also a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church and has been with this preschool program for over 4 years helping with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School programs as well.
We thank you for considering Center For Young Children and are very excited to partner with you in creating positive experiences for your child socially, emotionally, physically, educationally, and spiritually. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit, please contact the church office at 717-792-1650.
